Tuesday is the 4th of July, which is a great time to remember how grateful we should be to live in a free country. On this Independence Day, let’s focus on how great our country is and how thankful we are for all of those that continue to fight for our freedom.
Food, fun and fireworks are still three of my favorite things. Age can take some things away, but it has left the joy of those around and I am forever grateful for that. Whether you are a do-it-yourselfer when it comes to the fireworks show or you prefer to go see one or more of the many fireworks displays around Connecticut, we can all agree watching the show is a great way to spend an evening.
Make sure your pets are secured before you start your fireworks show or leave to view one. They are sure to hear the load booms and feel frightened.
With so many people celebrating on the same day, things are bound to get a little chaotic. Whether you are operating a car or boat, take extra care to be mindful of where people are, especially little kids that can be hard to see.
If you have a large group of people celebrating at a homeowner’s pool where younger people will be, consider hiring a lifeguard for the day, or two, and have them switch out. The peace of mind will be worth it.
If you are doing your own fireworks show, use caution; this is not the time to try some wacky tricks or prove how brave you are – that just might land you in the burn ward.
FOOD, FUN and FIREWORKS
Now that safety is out the way, let the fun begin! Gather with friends and family, fire up the grills and embrace your traditions. If you don’t have any yet – make some up. There is nothing like homemade peach ice cream while watching the fireworks show. And lately, we have taken to putting glow in the dark necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc. on everyone so we can find them when it is really dark and there are tons of people around.
Don’t have your guest coming over to toilets that won’t flush properly and an A/C that is barely running. Call Carmine’s today at 203-791-8089 and we will have your plumbing and air conditioning running properly so everyone (including you) can just enjoy the fun of the holiday.
HAPPY 4th, Everyone!!!!
