How to know when your furnace has got to go…
I find “how-tos” to be very helpful, l and I especially appreciate their short and sweet, straight to the point nature. So, this one lets you know when it is time to trade up and get a better roommate.
It’s stinky – while some roommates just smell worse than others, if there is a strong gassy odor wafting through your home, call a plumber immediately and be prepared to kick the stinky beast right out of the house, there may be a leak in your heat exchanger.
It has multiple personalities – if your home goes from burning up to freezing or there are spots in your home that are colder than others, your furnace is not able to keep up. Nobody likes major mood swings; I don’t care who you are.
It spends your money without asking – if your electric bills are ever increasing, it is because your sweet old furnace has lost its efficiency and now it has to run longer and work harder to provide the same amount heat you have always required.
It doesn’t clean up after itself – if you notice that your home is dustier than it had been, it is because older furnaces lack the ability to filter the air in your home.
It’s too noisy – if your furnace is banging and popping and you are not currently trying to be a nightclub, you should send it on its way.
Too needy – when you are constantly calling a repairman to get your furnace to run, it is needing entirely too much attention. Say goodbye.
Nobody likes a bad a roommate, especially one that is supposed to keep you warm at night. If your furnace is nothing but a nuisance, give Carmine’s a call at 203-791-8089. We will find the perfect new roommate for you.
