Next Friday is the 4th of July and there is a lot to be taken care of before then because I do not want to do anything, but grill and enjoy the festivities next weekend. Some ideas on what to get done ahead of time are as follows:
Mow the lawn (no one “enjoys” an over grown lawn)
Clean the Gutters (it’s not technically the season for this, but you know some of you still haven’t done it – when green things are shooting up from your gutters you really shouldn’t put it off anymore)
Stock the refrigerator with lots of burgers, chicken, hot dogs & ribs
Also, stock the fridge with lots of things to drink (it is very important to stay hydrated one way or the other)
Get something for the folks who don’t eat meat, if you have those around
Stock the freezer with lots of popsicles for the little ones (it gets hot, you know)
If you are feeling fancy go to that Pinterest site and pick out a 4th of July inspired craft or dessert that will take you a week to make and is supposed to look awesome. If your creation even somewhat resembles the picture consider yourself uber-talented.
If you haven’t already done so, have your a/c checked. It’s July people, you need to stay cool.
Make sure all of your plumbing is working correctly, especially your toilets. On the top of my list is to have a plumbing project wrapped up at my house. We currently cannot flush toilet paper. (You think that is gross? Yep, me too. Thankfully, all will be right before anyone comes to visit.)
Food, Family and Fun can be done on any budget and is completely worth the time (and hassle) that goes into preparing for get-togethers.
Start your prepping now so you are free to enjoy whatever you have going on next weekend and call Carmine’s for all of your cooling and plumbing needs at 203-791-8089.
