This Valentine’s Day don’t hand out the same old box of chocolates. Change things up a bit and do something that will really make a memory. Whether it is a night out with friends, a night in with the whole family or truly a romantic evening between two people who love each other Valentine’s Day is a great excuse for trying something new.
Get Out of the Rut – Everybody has their go-to restaurants and it is hard to break away from them because you know exactly what you want and you know exactly how it will taste and sometimes (okay, most of the time) you don’t want to risk a so-so meal after a long day. Take a chance and make a reservation or bring home take from a place you have never eaten before. Who knows, you may just end up with a new favorite place.
Have a Picnic by the Fire – This is a great Valentine’s tradition whether you are sweet loving couple or a family of five just trying to make through the night without any meltdowns. Light a fire, throw down some comfy blankets and pillows and have a picnic while watching a movie or playing a game. If picking a movie is a problem, write down everyone’s choices, throw them in a bowl and let someone pull out the winning movie.
Have TOO Many Choices for Dessert – That sounds like an awesome problem to have to me! Anything bite size is always a hit so get some miniature cupcakes and chocolates or pick up some pre-made desserts that some restaurants are doing now in oversized shot glasses. You can also just make your own coke floats in child size cups with some red straws for a little more fun.
Note the LOVE – this may quickly become another favorite V-day tradition, have each member of your family write down three things they love about each person. For example, “The thing I love about Jack is that he thinks everything is funny”, “What I love about Dad is that he is always there to help us” or whatever you want to say. The things kids say are awesome and everyone gets a kick about hearing something other people love about them.
At Carmine’s we hope this Valentine’s Day is hopefully full of love and happiness and a little bit of fun, but if you happen to end up with a heating or plumbing problem instead, give us a call 203-791-8089.
